Accademia Italiana Napoli

I really feel like the week went very well.  It is in a very good location, the staff were all very friendly and the standard of the teaching was high.  There was a good camaraderie amongst the students, even though there were differences in age, and it felt like a happy place. The level of my Italian has definitely improved and I felt a lot more confident speaking Italian away from the school. I thought that the location really helped as it is right in the heart of downtown Naples with lots of chances to speak Italian and to relax in the various cafes, bars and restaurants nearby. The excursions were very enjoyable and a chance to keep learning the language in a more informal way, along with learning about Italian culture, history and gastronomy whilst socialising with other students. I would definitely go back there.

My instructors Gina and Luca were outstanding. I thought the curriculum was difficult for me and I wouldn't have had it any other way. The staff was also kind, helpful and friendly. It was hot in rooms in June. I think a floor fan would have helped or some curtains to block direct sunlight.

Quando si frequenta un corso di lingua per un breve periodo, è una di quelle cose. Si entra in un programma che è iniziato una volta e che un giorno finirà. Bisogna adattarsi, c'erano cose che già conoscevo, altre che tutti gli altri conoscevano, ma che per me erano estrane... Gina, la nostra insegnante, aveva la pazienza di una santa.
Poiché la scuola di Napoli non organizza soggiorni in famiglia, il che mi sembra un peccato, ho affittato un appartamento.

All was very good, the location of the school is excellent, housing I did by myself, teacher nice and competent. Very satisfactory. But I would have liked to do a bit more grammar, not so much just free conversation. Alsao would have appreciated to have more cultural program. But overall I was very happy with the school.

I very much enjoyed my classes at Accademia Italiana Napoli. My teacher, Sra. Allesandra was excellent, and the school was centrally located on the Via Toledo which made it an easy base from which to sightsee in the afternoons after class let out. Having the class taught 100% in Italian made it immersive and challenging. Napoli is a wonderful city.

I didn't participate in many of the extracurricular activities, but mostly because I had developed a pretty long list of things to do and see on my own in my free time. In retrospect, I do wish I had taken advantage of the trip to Caserta.

The only part of the experience that I couldn't recommend was the housing. Located in Chiaia, it was a 20-25 minute walk each way to the school and the apartment was generally lacking in amenities with spotty WiFi service. It was also located behind a bar, which meant it could be quite noisy at night. (Fortunately, I had earplugs.) If I were to do this again (and I very well might!), I would book my own accommodation and would recommend others to do the same.
